 Recently, the Malaysian Immigration division has re-initiate their online Passport renewal service to lessen the traffic stream that they struck at their offices throughout the previous couple of months. Yes, I had been one of those men and women who lined up from early in the afternoon just to get my passport renewed. I didn't mind really since the service in their Jalan Duta (it is in Hartamas, reverse Publika to be more exact) was fairly quickly and I got mine done in 2 hours (because I choose to go for a walk rather than wait at the counter).

 

If you still need to Get one done within the counter, visit all those branches beyond the city or visit the Jalan Duta office as the lines are constantly moving when their machine is down. We can not travel if the passport is less than 6 weeks to expiry so might as well type it out before it is too late, instead of to dread in the last minute when you need to travel and realize the passport is expired or dying.

 

Applicant must Present him/herself at the Immigration office for collection of his/her passport. No representative is permitted. Applicant should bring their Identity Cardexisting passport and receipt from the online enrollment. The online renewal process is only for those who is saddled with an present passport with the microchip, if you're still using the older passport with no chips OR is substituting a stolen/damaged passport, then you are still going to have to walk in and do it the manual way. Additionally, you need to be present yourself rather than asked a representative to collect on your own behalf (If you're below 18, proceed with your guardian/parents).

 

At present, you can Only receive the passport out of four countries and 2 Urban Transformation Centres (UTC) that is listed in the online application portal. So choose Wisely, you wouldn't need to wind up traveling to various states just to get a Passport when you can accumulate it down the road.
